South African economic operators are going to create a sugar refinery for 10 billion FCFA (25 million dollars). Scheduled to be operational in 6 months, “Forzi Sugar Company Ltd (FOSCOL)” should be able to make up the current annual 5,000 tonnes deficit in sugar production. Eighty percent of FOSCOL’s production will be destined for local consumption. The rest will be exported to the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC).
